The Christmas Fayre was once again a great success due to the hard work from members of staff and parents who generously donated good and spent money on the day. Photographs from the fayre are available on the BJSTV section of the website. Money made during the day goes towards subsidising school trips and events for the children to enhance their learning experience.
Thankyou to everyone who attended or gave /made items for the fayre.
7 children represented BJS in the annual 6-a-side football tournament held at St Lawrence’s Academy, by Scunthorpe United. After losing out on penalties last year, the team were determined to try and make amends.
The team had struggled to play together in a tournament held previously this year so it was a real test to see how well they have developed. Their passion and teamwork shone through and they played excellent football in all three matches. The first match was 2-1 against Parkwood with the second game resulting in 5-1 against Henderson Avenue. BJS only needed a draw in the final game v Berkley to go through to the final. Berkley had played well all tournament and took a 1-0 lead, however BJS persevered and piled the pressure on and scored an equalising goal. Just as the final whistle was about to blow and send BJS through, Berkley had a final chance which hit both posts before trickling in! Very unlucky after heavy pressure from the BJS boys. A great improvement since the last tournament and the future of BJS football is looking good! Keep your eyes on the blog and website for more updates as the season progresses! Below are pictures from this afternoon, there is also a link to an interview with the BJS team captain for today, Josh.
Well done lads, a great show of teamwork!

Well done to all children (and parents) who helped to raise £297 on Roald Dahl Day. All money goes to the Roald Dahl charity, which helps seriously ill children. A great effort, in addition to a great day!
A new video has been added showing what Year 5 got up to when they had an African drumming session as part of their creative week, focusing on Africa. Check out the BJS TV section of the website to see the video!
There is an article in this weeks Scunthorpe Telegraph, 13th Oct, regarding our recent media day at Study Parks (Scunthorpe United). This article is also available online.
The Brumby Juniors under 11s 7-a-side team didn’t manage to progress through to the district finals despite gritty performances throughout the tournament. The team got better with every game however, this wasn’t enough to finish in the top two and progress further. Well done to the team who did very well to get to the final stages, only 4 teams from Scunthorpe got this far! Below is the team picture.

The Brumby year 6 football team had their first 11-a-side match tonight. They lost the match 4-3 after a valiant fight back from 3-0 down at half time! Strong winds caused mayhem for both sides and made it a hard fought battle! More matches to follow in the next few weeks.
