Year 4 Visit St Lawrences Academy09-03-2010 | 10:38:32 | No Comments

On 26th February Mr Fox’s class visited St Lawrences Academy for a hockey festival. They worked really hard to improve their hockey skills, moving round a variety of activities before playing some short matches at the end. They all did fantastic, most of the pupils had never played before! Can you spot any future olympic champions in the picture below?

The Selfish Giant comes to BJS!25-01-2010 | 09:33:05 | No Comments

On Wednesday 20th January, a theatre company came in to perform ‘The Selfish Giant’ to Y5 and Y6. The children not only got chance to watch a fantastic performance of the classic tale, but also had a chance to take part in a theatre workshop with the actors. Some children even had a part in the production! We are going to be using this as a stimulus for Literacy writing over the next few weeks. Y3 and Y4 will be seeing the production on Monday 25th!  Also remember to check the year group blogs (links in the menu on the right –> ) for further updates and photos.

Many thanks to all parents, staff and children for contributing to the 2009 BJS Christmas Fayre. It was a great success with over £1200 being raised for school funds. This will help fund trips and resources which will greatly improve the children’s experience and enjoyment at school.

Check out the year group blogs for photos from the fayre!
